Herona Community Hospital Conducts Mobile Medical Outreach at Nangunga with Support from IMET 2000
Over 250 patients receive free eye examinations, reading glasses, and essential health screenings
Herona Community Hospital Kisoga successfully conducted a mobile medical outreach clinic on 17th October 2026, with generous support from IMET 2000. More than 250 patients were screened, benefiting from a range of free healthcare services aimed at promoting disease prevention, early diagnosis, and improved community health.
The outreach reflects Herona Community Hospital’s ongoing commitment to bringing essential medical services closer to the people, particularly communities that face challenges accessing healthcare.
Free Medical Services Provided
During the outreach, patients benefited from several essential health services, including:
- Free eye examinations to assess vision and identify potential eye conditions.
- Free reading glasses to help eligible patients with near-vision difficulties.
- Diabetes screening to promote early detection and awareness.
- HIV testing to encourage early diagnosis and access to appropriate care.
- NAAT-based TB testing to support the diagnosis of tuberculosis.
- Other medical screenings and health education to encourage preventive healthcare and timely treatment.
By bringing these services directly to the community, the outreach helped improve access to essential healthcare while raising awareness about the importance of regular screening and early medical intervention.
