Strengthening HIV and TB Care: Free TB Test Kits for Herona Community Hospital
Herona Community Hospital has received a major boost in its efforts to combat tuberculosis (TB) and HIV following a new initiative by the Ministry of Health Uganda, working through Joint Medical Stores.
Under this program, the hospital will begin receiving free TB test kits and essential medical supplies aimed at improving the diagnosis and management of TB, especially among people living with HIV. This marks a significant step forward in strengthening integrated HIV and TB care services within our community.
TB continues to be one of the leading co-infections among individuals living with HIV, making early detection and timely treatment critical. With the introduction of free testing kits, more patients will now be screened quickly and accurately, allowing for early intervention and improved treatment outcomes.
This support will greatly reduce the burden on patients who previously faced challenges accessing or affording TB diagnostic services. It will also enhance the hospital’s ability to provide continuous care, improve patient follow-up, and expand outreach to vulnerable populations.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Health Uganda and Joint Medical Stores for this vital support. Their commitment is strengthening healthcare delivery and bringing hope to many families in our community.
At Herona Community Hospital, we remain committed to ensuring these resources are effectively utilized to improve patient care and to continue advancing the fight against HIV and TB.
Together, we are building a healthier community through better access to care.
