Herona Community Hospital recently had the honor of hosting a distinguished team of medical professionals in a transformative surgical training initiative aimed at strengthening local capacity in hernia repair.
The visiting team included Dr. Hassan, an Associate Professor and Director of Bariatric Surgery in the Department of Surgery, Dr. Allan, a Consultant Surgeon from Adventist Hospital, USA, and Abeedah, a dedicated medical student volunteer. Their visit marked an important milestone in advancing surgical expertise within the hospital and the wider community.
During their time at Herona Community Hospital, the team conducted hands-on training sessions for local surgeons, focusing on the Lichtenstein hernia repair technique. This widely accepted method is known for its effectiveness and reliability in treating inguinal hernias.
