Herona Community Hospital, Rotary Club of Mukono, and Aqua Pura Switzerland Strengthen Partnership to Expand Access to Safe Drinking Water

A joint meeting was held today between Herona Community Hospital Kisoga, the Rotary Club of Mukono, and Aqua Pura Switzerland, an international organization dedicated to ensuring access to safe and clean drinking water in communities and rural schools.

The meeting aimed to strengthen partnerships and coordinate efforts to expand clean water projects within Mukono and surrounding areas. All participating entities pledged their commitment to support Aqua Pura’s ongoing and future initiatives that seek to improve community health through access to safe drinking water.

During the meeting, Dr. Mechthild Wennemer the President of Aqua Pura Switzerland, commended Herona Community Hospital and the Rotary Club of Mukono for their dedication to community service. She also announced plans to link the Rotary Club of Mukono with the Rotary Club of Zurich to enhance collaboration, exchange expertise, and attract more resources for local water projects.

“Access to safe water is a basic human right. We are proud to work together with Herona Community Hospital and the Rotary Club of Mukono to make this right a reality for rural communities and schools,” Dr. Mechthild Wennemer said.

Representatives from Herona Community Hospital expressed appreciation for Aqua Pura’s support, noting that safe water directly impacts public health, hygiene, and disease prevention. The hospital reaffirmed its readiness to continue working closely with community partners to promote both healthcare and clean water access as essential components of community well-being.

The Rotary Club of Mukono also welcomed the partnership, highlighting the importance of sustainable water projects that empower communities, protect children’s health, and reduce waterborne diseases.
