Free cataract surgical team is led by Dr.Susan Kikira A consultant opthamologist this project is supported by a friends of herona community Hospital in UK .The project started in 2020 and over 400 free successful cataract  surgeries have been registered 

Cataract surgery involves removal of the natural lens and replacing it with an articicial lens 

• The surgeon makes a small incision in the cornea, breaks up the lens, and removes it. The artificial lens is then inserted through the same incision.
• The surgery itself takes about 10–20 minutes, but you should plan to spend up to 30 minutes recovering from the sedative.
