Herona Community Hospital was honored to host Dr. Yu Qui from the United States of America during a special visit aimed at strengthening laboratory services and advancing diagnostic healthcare at the facility.

The visit marked the first important step towards the donation and installation of the very first PCR machine at Herona Community Hospital, a major milestone expected to transform laboratory diagnosis and patient care within the region.

During the visit, Dr. Yu Qui toured the hospital departments, interacted with the medical team, and assessed the laboratory infrastructure in preparation for the upcoming installation of the advanced diagnostic equipment. Hospital administrators described the development as a breakthrough that will improve the hospital’s ability to conduct modern molecular testing and provide faster, more accurate diagnosis of infectious and other medical conditions.

The PCR machine is expected to greatly strengthen the hospital laboratory by improving disease detection, reducing delays in diagnosis, and enhancing patient management. It will also support training opportunities for local laboratory personnel and healthcare workers in advanced laboratory technologies.

Hospital management expressed sincere appreciation to Dr. Yu Qui for the commitment to supporting healthcare development and laboratory capacity building at Herona Community Hospital. They noted that the partnership reflects the hospital’s continued mission of expanding access to modern and affordable healthcare services for the communities of Mukono District and surrounding areas.
