Public Notice: Free Cataract Surgeries at Herona Community Hospital on 6th February 2026

Herona Community Hospital is pleased to inform the general public that it will conduct free cataract surgeries on 6th February 2026 as part of its ongoing commitment to restoring sight and improving the quality of life for people in our communities.

The cataract surgical camp will be led by Dr. Susan Kikira, an experienced eye surgeon, supported by a dedicated team of ophthalmic clinicians, nurses, and theatre staff at Herona Community Hospital.

Members of the public who are affected by cataracts are encouraged to come for screening and assessment ahead of the surgery date. Eligible patients will receive surgery at no cost, including pre-operative evaluation and post-operative care.

This initiative aims to reduce preventable blindness and increase access to specialized eye care, especially for vulnerable and underserved populations.
