Herona Community Hospital Conducts Successful Medical Outreach at Nangunga Village

Herona Community Hospital successfully conducted a medical outreach camp at Nangunga Village, bringing essential healthcare services closer to the community and improving access to preventive and curative care.

During the camp, residents of Nangunga Village and the surrounding areas received free eye examinations and treatment, enabling early detection and management of common eye conditions. Patients found to have visual difficulties were provided with free reading glasses, greatly improving their daily activities and quality of life. In addition, patients diagnosed with cataracts were identified, counselled, and also given free reading glasses as they await further management.

The outreach also included free HIV testing services, diabetes screening, and general medical consultations. These services helped community members understand their health status, receive timely treatment, and obtain referrals where specialized care was required.

The medical camp was made possible through the dedication of Herona Community Hospital’s medical team and the strong collaboration with 1met2000 ,local leaders and community members. The initiative reflects the hospital’s ongoing commitment to community outreach, disease prevention, and equitable healthcare delivery.

Herona Community Hospital remains committed to organizing similar medical camps to serve vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities and to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all.
