Herona Emergency and critical care unit

our Casualty Accident & Emergency Centre provides services 24 hours a day 7 days a week supervised by emergency care DR and intensivist Dr Gabriel Mathiew From Austria.
It serves as an Emergency Department, Out-Patient Department and as entry point for all the admission cases.

Herona Dental Clinic Operates from Monday to saturday. The working hours are 8 AM-4PM on week days and 9AM-2PM on Saturday The department has two committed dentists and one Nurse, we are specialized clinic that offers services to people with in the community and these from far the services are subsidized making it affordable to many of our clients. HERONA ANTENATAL CLINIC Through antenatal care, provides access micronutrient supplementation, treatment for hypertension to prevent eclampsia, as well as immunization against tetanus. also provide HIV testing and medications to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV

HERONA LABOUR SUITE this department offers wide rannge of obstetric care to mothers 24 hrs with senior midwives supervised by obstetrician ,they also Provide emotional support to the family in dealing with the transition of having a new baby. Establishes a feeding routine with the baby (breastfeeding or using formula) Support the mother to get rest. ... Supports the mother and family to feel confident in handling the newborn.

HERONA MAIN OPERATING THEATRE

We offer a range of surgical interventions including major and minor procedures for obstetric, trauma and non- trauma patients. The operations are mainly done by open technique but we also have a provision for laparoscopic technique.

Our operating theatre is open 24 hours seven days a week. We plan to construct a surgical ward and begin urology and eye surgery camps.

The major surgical procedures include;

Urological procedures (prostatectomy, urethroplasty, ureteric implantation, hypospadias repair, nephrectomy

Abdominal procedures( gastrectomy, splenectomy, cholecystectomy, Appendicectomy, colectomy)

Orthopaedic procedures( Open reduction and internal fixation, External fixation, major Amputations, sequestrectomy)

HERONA EYE CARE CLINIC The department of ophthalmology (the eye clinic) at Herona hospital is a comprehensive medical and surgical network organized to meet all your eye care needs. We provide a full range of medical and surgical treatments for everyone in your family from neonates to Adults. The eye department consists of primary eye care workers, advanced care team and support Department together. we offer free cataract surgeries with support from IMET2000

with support from partners Herona hospital offers 20 free cataract surgeries monthly , these are done by a team lead by aconsultant senior ophthalmologist DR.Susan Kikira

Small incision cataract surgery (phacoemulsification). This is the most common type of cataract surgery. The surgeon makes a small cut (incision) on the edge of the cornea. The cornea is the clear, dome-shaped surface that covers the front of the eye. A tiny probe uses ultrasound waves to break up the cloudy center of the lens. The lens is then removed by suction through the same incision.
