Successful Orthopaedic Surgery Restores Wrist Function at Herona Community Hospital
Herona Community Hospital is pleased to announce another successful orthopaedic surgery carried out at our facility, marking an important step in restoring mobility and quality of life for our patient.
The patient was admitted with a severe fracture of the wrist joint, which required surgical intervention due to the nature and instability of the injury. After thorough clinical assessment and imaging, our orthopaedic team recommended surgery to properly realign and stabilize the fractured bones.
The procedure performed was Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) of the wrist, a standard and effective orthopaedic surgery for managing complex fractures. The surgery involved carefully realigning the broken bones and fixing them in place using a metal plate and screws to ensure proper healing and restoration of wrist function.
The operation was successfully conducted by our orthopaedic surgeon, with support from the theatre and nursing teams at Herona Community Hospital. The patient is currently recovering well, with good post-operative progress and is expected to regain improved wrist strength and function following rehabilitation.
This successful surgery reflects Herona Community Hospital’s continued commitment to providing quality, affordable, and specialized surgical care to our community. We remain dedicated to expanding access to orthopaedic services and improving outcomes for patients with bone and joint injuries
